Gloria Anderson, the Founder and Executive Director of Tanzania Enlightenment Development Innovations (TEDI) , recently had the honor of delivering a keynote speech at the prestigious Summit of the Future Action Days hosted at the China Pavilion. As a member of the YALI Alumni Chapter of Tanzania and a Mandela Washington Fellow, Gloria is a passionate advocate for using technology as a tool for empowering marginalized communities.
In her keynote address, titled “Leveraging Technology for Social Good, with a Focus on Marginalized Groups,” Gloria emphasized the importance of ensuring that technological advancements benefit all sectors of society, especially the most vulnerable. Her speech highlighted the role of digital access in leveling the playing field, allowing underprivileged groups to tap into global opportunities.
Sharing the stage with other influential leaders such as Ms. Ningning Xiao, Deputy Secretary-General of the China NGO Network for International Exchanges (CNIE); Ms. Xiangyi Wang, Vice Chair and Secretary General of the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO); and Dr. Raj Chintaram from the Economic, Social, and Cultural Council of the African Union, Gloria’s presence reinforced the power of young African leaders in shaping a more inclusive future.
Gloria's deepest gratitude goes to the World Youth Development Forum (WYDF) and All China Youth Federation which provided the platform for young leaders like herself to engage with global decision-makers and share valuable insights. She acknowledged the forum's efforts to amplify the voices of the youth and promote collaboration across continents.
A strong advocate for equality, Gloria continues to emphasize that every individual, regardless of background—be it race, gender, age, or socioeconomic status—deserves the right to quality education. In her words, "Digital access is not just a privilege but an essential component of modern education." Gloria calls for sustained efforts to ensure digital tools are available to all, especially to the rural and underserved youth, as a means of empowering them to access both local and global opportunities.
Through the organization she leads - Tanzania Enlightenment Development Innovations (TEDI) , and platforms such as the Summit of the Future Action Days, Gloria is actively contributing to the global conversation on youth leadership, education for all, and the role of technology in shaping a brighter future for marginalized communities. Her keynote was a powerful reminder of the need for intergenerational and international cooperation to create a more equitable, inclusive, and digitally connected world.
This event once again highlights Gloria’s tireless dedication to social good, standing as an inspiration for many young African leaders working toward the betterment of their societies.
